Celebrate what makes life better for you, for all humankind, and for our planet

The Multifaith Saskatchewan Visual Arts Project invites students in grades 9 to 12 across Saskatchewan to submit their artwork. Please help us create a more inclusive and respectful world through your art. Your work will educate and inspire people of all ages to treat each other and our fragile environment with genuine respect and thoughtful action.
Themes for consideration could include, but are not limited to, the following:
- We are one human family
- We are more alike than different: but differences make life interesting
- Sustainability of life, sustainable development, Care of Mother Earth, Greening and Recycling
- We are part of nature, relying on our natural environment for life
- There is an ocean of wisdom within each faith
- What has life taught you about: the power of love, peace, truth, respect, compassion, inclusiveness, justice, contentment, reconciliation, and overcoming racism, prejudice, violence, and bullying.
- Images of sacred spaces, festivals, customs and rituals
- What makes you think of the creator and creation?
- Any image that inspires you to trust and treat each other and our environment with love, understanding, and respect.
Students should submit high-quality digital images of their art (min. 300 dpi). Students may work in any visual media (sketching, painting, computer-generated digital art, etc…). Three independent adjudicators will judge the submitted art. Judging will be based upon the following criteria:
- Your message, 15 points;
- Artistic excellence, 15 points;
- Originality, 10 points; and
- Impact on the viewer, 10 points.
Fifteen cash prizes will be awarded. Each winner will also receive a certificate and medal.
- First prize: $200
- Second prize: $175
- Third prize: $150
- Fourth prize: $125
- Fifth prize (x 2): $100
- Sixth prize (x 4): $75
- Seventh prize (x 5): $50
Your art teachers are asked to certify that the submitted work is an original/digital image of the art created by the student artist.
Deadline for submission: Friday, April 8, 2022 [EXTENDED]
Award presentation: Friday, April 22, 2022 at 1pm
in the Theatre at the Regina Public Library, 2311 12th Ave, Regina
